... Finally my entry for the young animal contest on

I'm not 100 % pleased with the come out..

And yet this took me a LONG time to finish !

It's the first time I upload a drawing with Thoris, Anima's lover

He was designed by the amazing

. I wanted the butterflies to come out their hearts. I kinda failed in doing so..

And yeshhh, they wear no armour here ! I wanted them to be foals, and foals don't wear armour, so yeah.. xD

Okay, I'm going to start with the good things. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt="

(Smile)"/> I really like this picture overall. The colors are nice and I really love the butterflies! Not to mention that the foals are very cute. I do like the sky as well, especially the clouds. Well done on the grass, too--I like that it's lighter where the butterflies are shining.

But! There seems to be a strange disconnect in your shading with the first foal. His shading is nice and simple until you get to his haunch, where it's suddenly layered. It makes it look like his back leg is separate from his body. (Or hers, I apologize for any gender mix-ups.)

The only thing I really don't like about this is the tree. It seems out of place and takes my eye away from the foals. I do like how you have framed the bottom in with grass, but the tree and branches I think you could have done without.
